November 3rd Early Dismissal Schedule

Below is the bell schedule for Wednesday.

Last Tuesday, Honor Roll students were celebrated during lunch with certificates, bumper stickers, buttons, and cupcakes! Check out the celebration below (including a picture from 9th grade historian, Maricela Chan!)

10/10 Rule

We have noticed that there are a lot of students in the hallway immediately after the bell rings. Please please remind your children to make sure they are transitioning on time and managing their breaks throughout their days.

Senior Advising:

Seniors are expected to schedule and have a Parent Advising Touchpoint with their College Counselor by November 12th. These meetings are scheduled based on the parents' availability.

Senior Seminar:

We’re well underway with application season and the Class of 2022 is working hard on submitting their college applications. Students should have submitted a total of 7 applications by November 5th.

Bee Busy is an organization whose mission is to build a strong, healthy community by enhancing the quality of life for individuals and families. Mrs. Jimenez has secured a partnership with them to speak with our students 1-2x a month in Senior Seminar about real-life situations and taking care of their personal health.

College Affordability:

A few of our selective scholarships are in their final rounds, and we would like to congratulate the following students:

Luis Calderon made it to the finalists round for the Questbridge Scholarship and the semifinalist round the Gates Scholarship!

Additionally, America Luna is a Posse finalist for Colby College and Valentin Espinoza is Posse finalist for Texas A&M University.

When you see these students, please congratulate them on their accomplishments.

The November 2021 Scholarship Bulletin is available! Encourage students to review and apply for scholarships.

As a reminder, FAFSA/TASFA submission is now a graduation requirement for all seniors. We have a department deadline to have all FAFSA/TASFA submitted by November 19th.

We will be sure to update when more finalist notifications are in.

We have about 60+ IMPACT eligible students whom have a cumulative GPA of a 3.4 or higher. These students were expected to have at least 3-5 IMPACT partner institutions on their college lists. It is also an expectation that these students apply to all the IMPACT institutions by the early action deadlines.

College Visits:

Please encourage students to review the college visit schedule on Schoology for upcoming college visits(in-person/virtual). Students are expected to sign up for college visits if the schools are on their list or if they are interested in learning more about the college/university.

Quarter 2 Goals + Deadlines:
